Benefits help our fellow for the heart - become a volunteer to help others is a noble thing, everyone would know it. Now there is a reason to do it is to nourish the heart.
Yes, doing volunteer work is not only a positive impact for the soul, but also for the heart, even since a young age. From
a media that I read, here's the results of a study from researchers at
the Faculty of education and the Department of psychology of the
University of British Columbia, in Vancouver.
A
study published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics is looking to find out
how to volunteer work or social activities affect one's physical
condition. To that end, the researchers divided 106 teenagers sitting on a bench HIGH SCHOOL into two groups. The
first group performed volunteer work regularly for the past 10 weeks,
while the second group is waiting for the turn to be asked to volunteer.
Before
and after the study, the researchers measured The Body Index (IMT),
level of inflammation, as well as the cholesterol level of the
participants. In addition to physical conditions,
they also measure levels of self esteem, mental health, mood and
empathy from the study participants.
After 10 weeks, a group of students who volunteer
regularly turns out to have IMT, level of inflammation, and lower
cholesterol levels than students who were in the waiting group.
"Those
students who reported an increase in empathy, altruistic behavior, and
mental health also proved to show a large increase in heart health,"
said Hannah Schreier, author of the study. He
asserted that the early symptoms of heart disease can seem since his
teens, so he choose peajar Central high school as participants in his
study.
A
number of previous studies that have shown that psikosiosial factors,
including stress and depression, played an important role in heart
disease, which is currently the highest cause of death in many
countries, including Indonesia.
Well, ? come now, immediately register to volunteer activities that match your interests and talents. However, heart happy hearts healthy
